The Arizona Ambassadors Team arrived in Arizona late Monday night from Kenya! We are all so happy to be home, sleep in our own beds, and take hot showers! However, I know that a lot of us are also sad to leave a place that made us feel so welcomed. Over this next year, all of us will be speaking at meetings and events sharing our experiences. As I am attempting to mentally process all that happened on the trip, one of the best days comes to mind. That is the day we helped build a woman's mud house and fix up her yard to be ready for gardening.

The woman had a very tiny mud house that was falling apart and had almost no place to sleep. Also, her outhouse was being held together with some string and tarp. The conditions of her home made it unlivable and dangerous at night. We helped repair her existing mud house and outhouse, build an addition onto the house, and prepped the dirt. Repairing the mud house was a lot of hard work, but we all had fun while doing it. This experience made me extremely grateful for what I have. Although we were helping improve her current living conditions, they still were not the best, which put a lot in perspective.
