Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for dedicated 1eaders to study at Rotary Peace Centers at universities around the world.
Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, these professionals develop their capacity to become effective catalysts for peace. Rotary Peace Fellows earn either master's degrees or professional development certificates in subjects related to peace and development.
Since 2002, the Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,500 fellows who work in over
115 countries in education, in government roles, and at international organizations.
Rotary members like you can shape the next generation of peace leaders by identifying and interviewing potential candidates.
We would be honored by your presence at the second annual "Girl Power" bed build at the SHP workshop, the morning of Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Because our inaugural event last year was such a great success, we have decided to hold it every year as we advance our mission and help more kids with a bed of their own.
This year, our event is in close proximity to International Women's Day as we celebrate the power of women around the world, throughout history, and especially in our local community.
The bed build is 100% attended by women, and women only. This year's event will welcome women leaders in business, faith, service clubs, politics, entertainment, sports, education and other fields. We also welcome your suggestions regarding other potential attendees.
We are excited to announce that this year's Masters of Ceremony are the hosts of ABC15's Sonoran Living morning lifestyle TV show - Heidi Goitia & Terri Ouellette. Heidi & Terri have done a wonderful job of highlighting meaningful events all throughout the state of Arizona, including local businesses, health & wellness, community events, and more. Here's a sampling of their show: https://www.abc15.com/sonoranliving
Another option for you to think about is holding a bedding drive with your group leading up to March 7th. Our greatest need is for twin-size blankets, quilts, comforters, sheet sets, pillows and stuffed animals.
Lastly, our chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is now recognized by the state as a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) and your donations prior to April 15th may qualify for a state tax credit.
Please RSVP to Ginny Alexander and me, and help us ensure that No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!
As Rotarians, we are regularly exposed to opportunities to support various causes with our time, talent and treasure. Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the information and decide where we are going to use our available financial resources.
It would be wonderful if every Mesa West Rotarian would make the following BIG FOUR their Rotary charities of choice and support every one of them every year, we could make a bigger difference than we are making today.
