Rotary Action Groups (RAGs) are global, Rotary‑affiliated networks of experts and volunteers who share a deep interest or professional background in a specific cause. While Rotary clubs focus on service at the local and district levels, Action Groups operate across borders, bringing together Rotarians, Rotaractors, and even non‑Rotarian specialists who want to apply their knowledge to complex humanitarian challenges. They function as independent, Rotary‑recognized organizations that collaborate with clubs and districts to design stronger, more sustainable projects.
What makes Action Groups especially valuable is their subject‑matter expertise. Whether the focus is peacebuilding, water and sanitation, addiction prevention, environmental sustainability, or maternal and child health, each group offers technical guidance, best practices, project planning support, and connections to global partners. For clubs that want to take on a project but aren’t sure where to start—or want to elevate an existing effort—Action Groups can be a powerful resource.
For many Rotarians, discovering Action Groups feels like unlocking a new layer of Rotary. They provide opportunities to engage with your passions on a global scale, collaborate with like‑minded professionals, and amplify your club’s impact. Joining is optional and open to anyone who wants to contribute expertise or simply learn more about a particular area of focus.

March is WASH month! WASH = Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life.
When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.
WHERE: Ross Farnsworth YMCA, 1807 S Sunview, Mesa, AZ 85206
WHY? Andy Bradford is organizing a community blood drive and your help is needed. One pint of donated blood can save up to three lives, and the demand is constant. If you’re eligible, your donation will make a direct and immediate impact.
As Rotarians, we are regularly exposed to opportunities to support various causes with our time, talent and treasure. Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the information and decide where we are going to use our available financial resources.
It would be wonderful if every Mesa West Rotarian would make the following BIG FOUR their Rotary charities of choice and support every one of them every year, we could make a bigger difference than we are making today.
