WHAT ARE DISASTER RESPONSE GRANTS?

Rotary International

When communities are affected by catastrophes, The Rotary Foundation supports relief and recovery efforts through grants from the Rotary Disaster Response Fund.

Disaster response grants of up to US $25,000 fund relief and recovery efforts in areas that have had a natural disaster within the past six months. These efforts can include providing basic items such as water, food, medicine, and clothing.

Districts that have had a disaster and are qualified to receive Rotary grants can apply for a grant to launch their own projects or work with established relief organizations.

Think about how you want to take part in grant programs. Which one interests you?

CLUB LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Register using the link below.

Dear Rotarians,

Registration is now open for Club Leadership Academy (CLA) 2026, our district’s hands-on leadership experience designed to strengthen clubs and support current and future leaders.

At our best, Rotary isn’t a meeting—it’s a mission. Power of Purpose is the idea that the strongest clubs aren’t the ones that work hardest to recruit; they’re the ones that work hardest to matter.

CLA 2026 Dates & Locations
  • CLA–Phoenix: Saturday, March 7, 2026 — Paradise Valley Community College
  • CLA Zoom Online option, Saturday, March 7, 2026
  • CLA–Prescott: Saturday, March 28, 2026 — Yavapai College
RLI- Session 1 at both Phoenix and Prescott events

I hope you’ll join us.

Best regards,
Michael Webb

2nd Annual Sleep In Heavenly Peace GIRL POWER bed build
LogoHello from Sleep in Heavenly Peace!

We would be honored by your presence at the second annual "Girl Power" bed build at the SHP workshop, the morning of Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Because our inaugural event last year was such a great success, we have decided to hold it every year as we advance our mission and help more kids with a bed of their own.

This year, our event is in close proximity to International Women's Day as we celebrate the power of women around the world, throughout history, and especially in our local community.

The bed build is 100% attended by women, and women only. This year's event will welcome women leaders in business, faith, service clubs, politics, entertainment, sports, education and other fields. We also welcome your suggestions regarding other potential attendees.

We are excited to announce that this year's Masters of Ceremony are the hosts of ABC15's Sonoran Living morning lifestyle TV show  - Heidi Goitia & Terri Ouellette. Heidi & Terri have done a wonderful job of highlighting meaningful events all throughout the state of Arizona, including local businesses, health & wellness, community events, and more. Here's a sampling of their show: https://www.abc15.com/sonoranliving

Another option for you to think about is holding a bedding drive with your group leading up to March 7th. Our greatest need is for twin-size blankets, quilts, comforters, sheet sets, pillows and stuffed animals.

Lastly, our chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is now recognized by the state as a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) and your donations prior to April 15th may qualify for a state tax credit.

Please RSVP to Ginny Alexander and me, and help us ensure that No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!

Thank you!
Joe Genovese

The Big Four - Ways to Support Rotary in Mesa West
As Rotarians, we are regularly exposed to opportunities to support various causes with our time, talent and treasure.  Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the information and decide where we are going to use our available financial resources.

It would be wonderful if every Mesa West Rotarian would make the following BIG FOUR their Rotary charities of choice and support every one of them every year, we could make a bigger difference than we are making today.
